Mold control with UVC technology

Molds are an integral part of the cheese production process, but it’s crucial that their presence is confined to specific stages. Mold spores can spread through air and water, leading to unwanted contamination and an unhygienic environment. To address this challenge, we installed UVC lamps in the evaporators of the processing area for a leading Dutch cheese producer. 

Mold grow reduction accomplished with UVC

This producer had struggled with air contamination due to mold growth in the facility and had explored various solutions to tackle the issue. Since installing the UVC lamps in the evaporators, the problem has been effectively controlled, resulting in a 77% reduction in mold growth. This improvement has led to cleaner air in the processing area, reducing the risk of contamination and enhancing the shelf life of the final product.

With the UVC solution in place, the evaporator stays clean, which not only prevents mold growth but also boosts the efficiency of the equipment. This technology contributes to a more hygienic production environment while improving operational performance.
