Air disinfection in climate chambers or culture cells

Humid conditions in climate chambers or culture cells make them the ideal environment not only for young plants, but also for undesirable germs such as botrytis. Airborne spores often cause plants to be contaminated with disease. Effective air disinfection in climate chambers or culture cells prevents the spread of these spores, reducing the loss of young plants and the risk of infections that cause problems later in the cultivation process.

Air disinfection equipment from the V-series disinfects the air up to 99% in a single pass. These units are made of strong stainless steel and ideally suited to harsh conditions.

Prevent airborne contamination

Cold stores for flowers or plants provide the right climate for fungi can grow. Plant diseases can spread through the air, which is why many growers and traders choose ionisation to disinfect their air.

It's a sustainable method that uses ions to tackle fungi and bacteria in the air, preventing flower and plant contamination and helping prolong vase life.

Virus control and entry hygiene

For clean growing applications, there are a range of solutions are available to reduce virus transmission. That could include disinfecting incoming materials like tools or automated cart disinfection.

Disinfection Tunnel for Harvest Carts

Viruses such as the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) and the cucumber mosaic virus pose a significant risk to the horticultural sector and can spread quickly in greenhouses.

A UVC tunnel offers a dry, fast, and chemical-free disinfection method for harvest carts, which is fully automated and labor-saving. The unique modular design with a robust stainless steel frame and aluminum cladding allows for easy installation.

Combating Stem Rot in Bell Peppers with UVC Light

Reducing stem rot in bell peppers, caused by the Erwinia bacteria, is a crucial step in ensuring the quality of bell pepper cultivation. This bacteria, which can cause significant damage to the peppers, has been shown to be sensitive to UVC light. Therefore, the use of UVC light is an effective method to reduce the loss of bell peppers after harvest.

By illuminating the peppers with UVC light immediately after harvest on the processing or sorting line, growers can significantly extend the lifespan of their products and prevent the spread of the Erwinia bacteria.
