Ionization

By using bi-polar ionization the Bioclimatic systems are able to purify the air in a natural and efficient way. Adding energy to the air (activation) the molecules split near the discharge tube. A large proportion of these molecules are oxygen (O2). The O2 is turned into lose oxygen atoms (O1) which contain a positive charge or a negative charge. Also other atoms passing by go through the same splitting. Filthy carbon hydrogen, stench molecules etc. get converted in oxygen and (mostly) carbon dioxide. The lose atoms are heavily charged (reactive) and contain a high capacity for burning other molecules, this state only lasts for a short time (around  1ms). By doing so all bacteria, mould and viruses are destroyed efficiently. Osmogens and other components causing bad odors are burned.   

By oxidation of bacteria and odor molecules depending on activated oxygen the Bioclimatic ionization systems provide a clean, healthy en fresh air. In de open this “activated air” appears in the form of positive and negative air ions and ozone. Air ions concentrations of 200 – 800 ions/cm3 is possible, depending on the climate and the place.

To point out the contrast; inside climates have almost none air ions!
The fact that ions have a positive influence on people is illustrated by this next example. In 2003 the Russian health ministry introduced a standard (SanPin 2.2.4 1294-3) which prescribes positive and negative ions in working places and in public buildings, for the peoples well-being. The natural process of air regeneration is copycatted by Bioclimatic by using sophisticated air ionization systems. These where designed to create a comfortable inside climate where bacteria is deactivated, odors neutralized and the air enriched with active ions.
